FASTPACKING / TRAIL RUNNING
Trail running in Slovenia is a little different. It’s not just about running light on gravel paths and moving fast. Even a single day in the mountains can mean a lot of elevation gain, steep and technical terrain, unpredictable weather and long stretches between huts or roads.
That’s why the way we approach trail running is closer to fastpacking. You’re still moving light and fast, but you need to carry enough for a full day in the mountains — extra layers, food, water and whatever the terrain demands. After hours of climbing and technical descents, your legs are tired, and the way you carry that weight starts to matter.
This is why, at What Happened, we developed a fastpacking trail running backpack rather than a traditional trail running vest. Not because running needs more stuff, but because Slovenian mountain running often means carrying more, for longer, through more demanding terrain. A little more volume gives you the freedom to move through the mountains for the whole day without having to compromise on what you bring.
